Programmably modify the INI file for Presorting
Instructions on how to programmably modify the INI file for Presorting and printing of the Mailing Statement and CASS Certificate.
Create an INI that you will use as a Template.
a. Open any database, Validate the Records and open the Presort window.
b. Setup the presort window for any class and size you want.
c. Click Presort
d. When the presort is completed, print the Mailing Statement and CASS Certificate from the Print Presort window.
e. You now have a “Presort.ini” file inside the Presort Folder that you can use as a Template for running through the Script feature
f. Copy the “Presort.ini” file from the Presort Folder to the \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\Presorts\ folder.
i. If there is not a “Presorts” folder inside the Scripts folder, create it.
g. You can rename the “Presort.ini” file to whatever name you want, i.e., STD AUTO LTRS.INI. This will be the file you Modify, either directly, or by creating a copy of it programably and then modifying the copy.
Note: When the script runs, it uses the INI file inside the \AccuZIP6 5.0\Scripts\Presorts\ folder that matches the name of the Saved Setting in the Presort Setup window. The Saved Setting name can be modified programmably and is located in the actual Script file (.scr).
The STD AUTO LTRS.INI contains all of the Presort and Mailing Statement settings. You can open the file with any text Editor to see each [SECTION] and SETTING=
Below are a few setting examples that you can change:
a. ENTRY ZIP CODE

b. MAIL PIECE ATTRIBUTES – Do not change PIECE TYPE= Instead, create a new INI for FLATS for example, then any changes to the attributes will be for flat size pieces.
