Fill Leading Zeros into the ZIP field

Use this command before you validate your database when you're importing an Excel file that has east coast or Puerto Rican addresses (ZIP Codes that have leading zeros). When you open the Excel file in AccuZIP6, the leading zeros that were part of the Excel formatting (but not part of the Excel data, which is key) won't appear in your file when you open the list in AccuZIP6, so the command below will fill the leading zeros back into the ZIP Codes in your database.

REPLACE zip with PADL(ALLT(zip),5,"0") FOR !EMPTY(zip) AND LEN(ALLT(ZIP))<5

We have been using the AccuZIP software for over seven years now. I believe that being an AccuZIP customer is one of the reasons for our success. Every time a question has arose, AccuZIP answered it completely and competently. When the post office did not have an answer for us AccuZIP did. If there was ever any conflicting info between the Post Office and AccuZIP, our AccuZIP customer service rep was always correct. We have experienced only excellent customer service. Let me make that clear not good customer service, excellent customer service.
