The Edit Menu is your launchpad to most of the design views in AccuZIP6, as well as the area to navigate to when wanting to mark or delete records, duplicate a particular record, or even run a Visual FoxPro™ command on your data. The Edit Menu is your data manipulation headquarters.
Undo - Used to revert text in any field back to its last saved setting. When in the List View, you can only use Undo if you haven't moved your cursor out of the currently selected field. Once you do, the data is stored and you will be unable to run an Undo function.
Cut/Copy - Used to cut or copy highlighted text (when in List View) or selected design items (Expression boxes, text boxes, etc) in Design View.
Paste - Paste any currently cut/copied data into your active field or Design View layout.
Delete - Takes you to the Delete screen, where you have the ability to delete single records, a selection, or any number of batch delete options.
Recall - Restore any temporarily deleted record to active status. You can recall single records, or batches based on your scope selections.
Reverse Deleted - Swap the selections of temporarily deleted and active records. Temporarily deleted records will become active and vice versa.
Duplicate - Duplicate a selection. You can duplicate single records, specific selections or your entire file based on your input into the scope section of the Duplicate screen.
Mark - Flag records with a "mark". These records will turn red in your List View, allowing you to quickly navigate to them. You can also use the Show pulldown to view all marked records at once.
Clear Marks - Clear all marked records of the marked flag. This will return a "red text" marked record to the standard "black text" record in List View.
Label - Prompts you to select a label template to modify. Double clicking any label file will take you to the Label Designer, where you can modify all aspects of your label template.
Report - Prompts you to select a report template to modify. Double clicking any report file will take you to the Report Designer, where you can modify all aspects of your report template.
Fields - Takes you to the Table Designer screen. This allows you to modify the structure of the active database. Change field names, types, and widths from this area, as well as setting indexes and viewing table statistics.
Pack Database - Permanently remove all records that are currently flagged for deletion. These "greyed out" records will be permanently eliminated, with no Undo feature. Because of this, there is a prompt that appears asking if you would like to back up the Deleted records first.
Command - Run a Visual FoxPro™ command on your database. Commands can do many things...from combining fields to character replacements to any number of database modifications. If you can think of it, chances are there's a command that can do it. Contact us via one of our many technical support options to get command help!
